Both convey profound, apocalyptic visions of the world’s end and the dawn of a new era, traditionally sung on Christmas night.

The Ensemble Hirundo Maris presents the enigmatic chants of the Middle Ages, the Spanish El cant de la Sibil. la and the Norwegian Draumkvedet. Both convey profound, apocalyptic visions of the end of the world and the dawn of a new age, traditionally sung on Christmas night. This album evokes the mysteries of winter, blurs the boundaries to the Otherworld, and transports the listener to mystical realms.

Arianna Savall en el seu primer disc com a solista cantant i arpista ens presenta un repertori de l’època medieval al barroc interpretat per set diferents arpes antigues. Les músiques provenen de tres països on l’arpa ha tingut un espai destacat en la vida cultural de les seves respectives societats: Itàlia, França i Espanya, territoris on l’arpa va viure un esclat d’una riquesa i una bellesa singulars. Arianna Savall amb la seva veu cristal·lina i la seu dolç tocar, arriba a les profunditats d’aquestes músiques llunyanes però alhora tan atemporals.
